A trip to the shops would never be complete without dropping by the Filipino Store.

Chris was craving for Hopia so we bought a pack of Eng Bee Tin, which I surprisingly found stored inside the freezers (together with the tubs of Ice Cream). It was AUD$2.30 per pack (that’s P100.05 @P43.50=AUD$1.00)…a pack has only 4 hopias.

Then we also bought Chicharon which was AUD$2.40 (so that’s $104.40). I almost always have a heart attack whenever I convert prices into Pesos but what can I do? Other than being Pinoy, I’m a self-confessed kuripot. I can’t help but convert prices especially when I’m buying products from the Philippines.

These (the hopias and chicharon) was what I served for our afternoon tea. I prepared our meryenda while cooking lunch for tomorrow (see story of the Red Capsicum) and before serving to husband I took photos first. Talk about multi-tasking–imagine me in the kitchen with a spoon ladle on my right hand then a camera on the left.

Anyway, the funny thing was husband and I had two hopias each…and then in a few minutes we both said “Yun na yun???” (That’s it??). We don’t know if it’s our appetite or what…but the Eng Bee Tin hopias seemed smaller than what we’ve eaten in Manila a year ago. I think next time we need to buy two packs hehehe.

Celebrated Jiona’s Christening today at Liverpool. Gary and Yyoni are one of the happiest parents today because Jiona is officially a Christian.

Jiona is soooooo cute!!!! The Uncles and Aunties (Titos and Titas) were given a chance to have a photograph with the baby after the Christening at the church. Here’s ours with baby Jiona:

All the barkada was there and we all enjoyed catching up and making fun of each other at the reception. It was Buffet style til 2:00PM so we really stuffed ourselves up from starters to dessert.

One of the best part of the event was when Yyoni handed the souvenirs out…

It was magnets saying “Thank you” and it had the photo of the Lejarde family. I was soooo happy to see the photograph I took of them during Jiona’s first photoshoot. Yay, yay, yay!!!!

Chris was like “Are you sure???” Hahaha. He was playfully acting like he’s jealous. And I was like “Nah!!! I took that one and you know it!” Hehehe. When we got home, we checked the properties of the photo and it indicated that it was taken with a 400D…humirit ba naman si husband na “Didn’t we exchanged cameras at that time?”….and we were laughing so hard. My husband really likes to tease me. Anyway, when it comes to photography, we are passionate, competitive (we challenge each other), generous (he is my mentor and he’s really very helpful), critical of each other’s works and no matter what happens we are a team, so whatever photo gets picked for whatever, we’re both happy. Over-all, it’s OURS.

Anyway, we ended up going home early (was planning to go to the city for the Aroma Festival) but I had a very bad runny nose. I hope I feel better tomorrow.

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend!

Ito ang aking lahok sa Litratong Pinoy na may temang Tatak Pinoy.

This is my entry to Litratong Pinoy’s theme Tatak Pinoy.

The last time I vacationed in the Philippines in December 2006, I was happy to see Jeepneys again. When I lived in Sydney, I missed getting on Jeepneys: its vibrant colours, the noise it makes, the way I say “Please pull over” and the different character-types of drivers.

One happy camper…

Asaran with the use of Ipod Touch…

Chris started it so I had to retaliate (hehehe)…

Chris tries the Apple TV…

While I got amused with the design of their staircase…

And so I asked for another photograph on the stairs…

While Chris got amused with the gadgets inside the Apple Store, I, on the other hand, got amused by the store’s interiors. Wow pare, anlabo ko talaga! 😛 Although Chris tried his best explaining which is which and each gadget’s features, my attention span was very short. But I did love the iMovie of the MacPro and I look forward to having an iPhone, that’s about it for me (in terms of interest for Apple products)…for now. Siguro konti pang brainwashing ni husband before I can have the same interest as his.
