Sunday (9/11/08): Bola-bola with Sotanghon.

Wednesday (12/11/08): Sinigang na Hipon.

Friday (14/11/08): Chopsuey. Chicken Noodles. Grilled Chicken (I bought from the Deli).

Saturday (15/11/08): Just cooked breakfast (egg and sausages). No ‘real’ cooking done today due to lunch party that we attended and we’re finishing up with leftovers.

Wow! Can’t believe we’ve been living in our home for a month now. 🙂 And that I’ve been cooking on a regular basis. It’s quite a challenge trying to go home early so I can cook in time for dinner when the husband arrives home. I don’t cook everyday, but when I do, I cook at least two dishes that will be good for 2-3 days.

Want a healthy option for a snack? Try this…

The brand is Craisins because it’s like raisins, only this is

sweetened dried cranberries.

I love it! I’ve been snacking on these since I’ve discovered it from a party that we attended. It tastes better than raisins because it gives me a more sour taste.

You can eat this with yoghurt, salads, cereal, porridge or simply eat it straight out of the bag.

Nutritional Value:

  • Naturally fat-free
  • Source of antioxidants
  • May help maintain urinary tract health

Effects I’ve experienced after snacking on dried cranberries:

  • No more constipation blues (I find this more effective compared to raisins)
  • I feel more “detoxed” everyday

This brand may not be available in the Phils, but there might be another brand of the same thing and there might be sweetened dried cranberries available in stores that sell peanuts and dried/preserved fruits.

While window-shopping at Paddy’s Markets two weeks again, I saw sweetened dried cranberries in the markets, so it’s probable that these may be available in other wet and dry markets too.

Edited: After a few minutes of posting this, a friend of mine from the Phils has informed me that Craisins is available in Santis Delicatessen (thanks Alyn!).

After days of working late (Sunday included), the husband finally got thru a major product launching yesterday. And as a token of appreciation, each individual from the team got champagne from the President of the company.

What really amazed me was that last Sunday, his boss thanked him for working on a Sunday…and thanked me for letting him work on a weekend.

Nowadays, it is very rare to find a boss who give appreciation to their subordinate’s partners when they work beyond office hours. This was the first time something like this has happened to us. Maybe it has something to do with Australia being more family-oriented as compared to other first-world countries. Here, it is a norm that weekends are spent with family.

On other husband-news, the husband came home with some other loot today from his first ever fun run. The company was invited to join JPMorgan Chase 2008 so they all went to the Centennial Park this afternoon.

I was so excited last night that he was asked to join, I kept on teasing him “Wow, may fun run ang big boy ko” hahaha. I just find it funny that he would be running when in fact, he was never a sports person. As in he doesn’t have a sport. But he did me proud today because according to him, he ran 5.4 kms. Oh ha? May talent din pala siya other than being an artist.

Maligayang Huwebes!

Blog revamp? Yes.

With the new home of our own comes bigger responsibilities and more stories to share, so the Charmed Wife is now writing about tips, solutions and great finds for the home. The Charmed Wife is also writing of her kitchen adventures and misadventures.

Blog advertising? No…and maybe.

No, products featured here are things I discovered thru supermarket shopping, recommendation from friends and online surfing so I’m sharing all my domestic adventures to you.

Maybe…it could be advertising only if a company will ask me to write about their product. If it is paid advertising: (1) I will surely mention in my entries that it is paid advertising and (2) I have tried the product and sincerely believe/trust the product. I will never compromise my opinion and judgement only because of monetary rewards.

Whatever product I feature here in my blog, that is because it works/worked for me. My experience may not be parallel to yours, some results may vary for each and every household so I won’t take responsibility for any brouhaha that happens when you use a product that I feature here.

Will the Charmed Wife still write about her Travel and Food Adventures?

Definitely yes!! A charmed life will never be complete without travel and food adventures because there is ALWAYS learning in travel and food.

What about personal life experiences?

Yes, but only on a minimal level. The Charmed Wife will still write about her milestones and misadventures only if it will result to learning for the reader–WHICH HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE GOAL. For a time, the Charmed Wife felt exploited because instead of getting the learning from sharing her milestones, heartaches and tough learnings, she felt that some readers judged her in an unfairly manner.

There are two “A Wife’s Charmed Life” websites (Multiply and Blogspot versions), what website do we “Bookmark” or add to our “Favorites”?

Since last month, The Charmed Wife has turned her entries at Multiply for her network’s viewing only. However, photo albums in Multiply are still and will always be viewed by everyone.

The Charmed Wife is only maintaining her Multiply site only because she cannot leave the friendships she had made with her Multiply buddies.

Whatever is written and published in her Multiply account is viewable in Blogspot. A lot of readers had the notion that the Charmed Wife is keeping “secrets” via Multiply because it has been made “un-viewable” to non-Multipliers but that has never happened. My entries has always had a duplicate in Blogspot.

The Charmed Wife also has plans of going thru her Multiply contacts to see who hasn’t visited her for the past six months. She plans to cut back on her Multiply contacts since most of them do not really visit her Multiply site. Family members and friends will not be included in the cut-back. The good news is that the Charmed Wife will now approve invites ONLY if the inviter gives her a very good reason on why she should add her (saying “Hi, how are you?” doesn’t count).

In conclusion, “A Wife’s Charmed Life”‘s official site is
