I seem to be getting involved in a few unplanned meet-ups lately. Mid-week, my girlfriend, Chloe, messaged me that she’s on the early roster (read: early out from work) and can meet up for coffee after work. I immediately replied, “I’m free Thursday afternoon! I want to check out this Korean cafe in Pitt Street called “Caffe Tiamo“. Let’s go there, please?”  And being the nice friend that she is, Chloe responded on the affirmative. Yay! It was set then.

We met up at World Square and walked our way towards the cafe which was actually just across the street. We were so engrossed with catching up while we were walking that we went the other way haha. Very funny.

Anyway, we finally got there only to realise that I’ve passed by Caffe Tiamo a few times before. It had an inconspicuous facade with its small entrance. From the outside, it can be mistaken as a take-away cafe but once inside, it was spacious enough for guests to dine in. They also have a courtyard at the back part of the cafe should you wish to dine al fresco. It was a warm day yesterday so we opted to for a table on the loft area.

We like the Korean vibe inside the place. Chloe even asked if the place is similar to the cafes I’ve been to in Seoul and indeed it is similar as it had cute interiors such as book shelves and plants decors.  The ambience made us feel like we were in a garden.

Our favourite Bibimbap restaurant in Seoul sells Kimchi in a jar…and I’m so glad I found one in the nearby Asian supermarket.

Bibigo is Korean restaurant which we frequented when we travelled in Seoul last year. They are known for their delicious Bibimbap where they let you create your own buy choosing which rice, meat and sauce you like.  Other than serve food, they’ve created various products that you can enjoy at home such as dumplings, fermented sauces, soup, stew, etc.

Why I love Bibigo’s Kimchi:

Its spiciness doesn’t overwhelm, just enough to enhance the flavour of your main dish. I taste a balanced flavour of salty and sour with every bite. The cabbage are cut in small squares so it’s easier to pick with my chopsticks and chew.

Where I found Bibigo’s Kimchi:

I found this jar of Kimchi at G&L Supermarket (17-21 First Avenue, Blacktown). However, they don’t have these on the shelves regularly. As of this writing, they are currently out of stock. I suggest you check out other G&L Supermarket branches, Tong Li Supermarket or Hanaro Mart Strathfield. This could also be found other Korean grocery shops in Sydney Metro.

Just taking a minute to be grateful for a Husband who supports my love for the Creative Life.

I’m a trying-hard-at-being-creative person. I wasn’t born gifted with hands that can draw or skills that can create beautiful things. I worked extra hard at being creative as it didn’t come naturally to me.  But I have always loved creating things, whether it is in art or writing. I used to create scrapbooks before; have always loved taking photographs and writing journals.  I have always appreciated the work the comes in art and literature.

Having met the Husband, he nurtured my skill in photography and drawing. He exposed me to art by taking me to exhibitions. He’s gifted me with cameras that will help me take photographs and continually coaches me in using them. Over time, I have developed a little skill at writing my thoughts thru my blog and learning from authors and bloggers I admire. The Husband also takes part in my blog life by developing a site for me and  making me understand the technicalities of a website.

Being with the Husband has opened my eyes to a life of creativity…of seeing the world differently thru my eyes and being able to create something that fulfills me.
