Christmas Floor Mat
We don’t have much Christmas decors in the home and we don’t have plans of putting up so much Christmas decors due to the fact that we only moved in and still getting settled in our home. But as early as November, I put out our Christmas Floor Mat so we can have a feel of Christmas inside the home.
Christmas Floor Mats are available in department stores here in Australia, prices range from AUD$10.00-20.00 (today’s exchange rate is AUD$1.00 = Php31.95).

Chris and I are very happy that we were finally able to host a party for our dear friends. And I’m very happy to have been able to prepare a little feast for them. We truly appreciate the happy company, the lively singing (and dancing too) that lit up our home last night and of course, the gifts your brought. Thank you very very much from the bottom of our hearts!

Special Thank You’s:
Gary and Yyoni for the Spaghetti and Drinks
Evan and Hilda for the Pavlova
Rich and Rachelled for the Cupcakes
Tom and Ara for the Krispy Kreme Donuts

We weren’t able to take photographs of all the food :(. But here’s the humble feast that Chris and I prepared:

1. Antipasto Platter (feta cheese, olives, sundried tomatoes and crisp bread)
2. Pork Barbeque
3. Chicken with Pistacchio Nuts (not in photo)
4. Spring Rolls (Lumpiang Shanghai)
5. Buttered Vegetables (Carrots, Asparagus and Beans)
6. Fruit Platter (Watermelon, Cherries, Strawberries and Grapes)

Have a blessed week!

I incidentally had a long weekend—that started on Thursday. I took a day off on Thursday because I needed to be at work on Friday (because I was supposed to attend a going-away dinner of a friend) but on Friday morning, the Husband had a low-grade fever and so I took him to the doctor and took care of him. He’s been having slight fevers for two nights straight and on Friday morning, he felt body aches. According to the doctor, he has a viral infection. Thank God that was all.
Anyway, the highlight of our weekend was the little lunch party I hosted for my relatives on Saturday. It was our first time to host lunch at our home. Friday night, I was very busy cooking Chicken Afritada, marinating the Pork Barbeque and wrapping Spring Rolls.
Saturday morning was busy as I cooked the Pork Barbeque and Spring Rolls. We were so happy to see our relatives and to be able to have lunch with them in our home.

With the busy morning and happy lunch we had, Husband and I decided to take it easy for the rest of the weekend.
I had some “Me” time on Saturday afternoon as I enjoyed a glass of iced lemonade and read “Twilight”.

Sunday, we just hang out at home, watching movies or TV. We are expecting another hectic week ahead of us so we just relaxed the whole day.
How was your weekend?

When it comes to being clean in the home, my logic has always been: IF YOU SMELL SOMETHING NOT GOOD, THEN IT MUST BE DIRTY. And if it is dirty, then it is not home to me. Simple, diba? Siyempre hindi, nakakapagod kaya maglinis. But in the name of cleanliness, I’d rather be exhausted than live in a dirty and stinky place. Not to mention that the husband is also keen when it comes to cleanliness in the home.
When we arrived in our unit on the first night we got the keys, the unit was clean but it smelled old and dusty. We inspected the unit thoroughly and discovered that the cupboards were not that clean, there were stains as well. The kitchen and floors had a bit of grease. There was a lot of work to be done.
I had three angels in the guise of cleansing agents that helped me make our new home feel like a home to us.

In every cupboard, cabinet and surface, we applied these cleansers:
White King Surface Spray. It has a bleaching ingredient so it is very effective in making off-white white again. Its main ingredient is for killing E. coli, Listeria, Salmonella and Staphylococcus. It can also remove molds and soap scum.
Oomph Degreaser. To make sure that we eliminate grease on every surface.
Glen 20. Disinfectant spray that eliminates odours, kills germs and a scent that lasts.
