Yesterday I read on the newspaper that drinking more than four cups of coffee a day might lead to fertility problem. Read the article below:

London, July 8: Women, please note — you can jolly well sip one or two cups of hot coffee everyday, but if you have fertility problems, then downing more than four could reduce your chances of getting pregnant.

Researchers at Radboud University in the Netherlands have based their findings on an analysis of 9,000 women who had received IVF treatment to get pregnant naturally between 1985 and 1995.

They found that around one in seven did, but drinking more than four cups of coffee a day cut chances of conceiving by around 26 per cent.

In fact, they noted that 16 per cent of the women went on to conceive naturally, 45 per cent within six months of their last IVF treatment, the BBC News portal reported.

Drinking alcohol at least three times a week carried the same risk as excessive caffeine intake. But smoking more than one cigarette a day and being overweight reduced the chances of pregnancy even more, the study revealed.

The researchers estimated that a 36-year-old woman who smoked, drank too much coffee and alcohol and was overweight, and who had been through three cycles of IVF, would have a five per cent chance of a natural pregnancy.

If she was a healthy weight and did not smoke or have too much caffeine or alcohol, her chance would be 15 per cent.

According to lead researcher Dr Bea Linsten, patients should be advised how they could maximise their chances of a natural pregnancy.

“We have to remind our patients that they may influence their chance of spontaneous pregnancy after IVF with a healthy lifestyle,” Dr Linsten said.

Thanks to our friend Gary who promised to send me the daily couples reflections. Please note that I am just sharing some of the Couples Reflections forwarded to me via email. I do not write these. May we all have a blessed week!

The dictionary defines covetousness as “marked by inordinate desire for wealth or possesions or for another’s possesions.” Inordinate mans “exceeding reasonable limits.” So covetousness is basically an unreasonable desire for something you don’t have others may. Not a healthy state of mind.

The bible does not say you should refrain from wanting a better life for yourself. Doing that would be as abnormal as coveting. What God’s Word does say is that until you achieve your desires, you should be content with what you have and not waste time envying others. You can sit in front of the TV, covering the newest and the best, or you can get out and earn what you want.

“Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have.”-Hebrews 13:5

Prayer:
Father, we know You want the best for us, but the best for us is not necessarily what is best for our neighbors. Keep us from covetousness but not from hope.

Celebrated Jiona’s Christening today at Liverpool. Gary and Yyoni are one of the happiest parents today because Jiona is officially a Christian.

Jiona is soooooo cute!!!! The Uncles and Aunties (Titos and Titas) were given a chance to have a photograph with the baby after the Christening at the church. Here’s ours with baby Jiona:

All the barkada was there and we all enjoyed catching up and making fun of each other at the reception. It was Buffet style til 2:00PM so we really stuffed ourselves up from starters to dessert.

One of the best part of the event was when Yyoni handed the souvenirs out…

It was magnets saying “Thank you” and it had the photo of the Lejarde family. I was soooo happy to see the photograph I took of them during Jiona’s first photoshoot. Yay, yay, yay!!!!

Chris was like “Are you sure???” Hahaha. He was playfully acting like he’s jealous. And I was like “Nah!!! I took that one and you know it!” Hehehe. When we got home, we checked the properties of the photo and it indicated that it was taken with a 400D…humirit ba naman si husband na “Didn’t we exchanged cameras at that time?”….and we were laughing so hard. My husband really likes to tease me. Anyway, when it comes to photography, we are passionate, competitive (we challenge each other), generous (he is my mentor and he’s really very helpful), critical of each other’s works and no matter what happens we are a team, so whatever photo gets picked for whatever, we’re both happy. Over-all, it’s OURS.

Anyway, we ended up going home early (was planning to go to the city for the Aroma Festival) but I had a very bad runny nose. I hope I feel better tomorrow.

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend!
