A chicken recipe with a twist handed down to me by my Tita Bess. Very simple with just a few ingredients and yet a best-seller during parties.

What you’ll need:

2 tablespoons Olive Oil

A bulb of Garlic, crushed

300 ml Fresh Cream

80 grams Pistachio Nuts, crushed

1 kilo Chicken Fillets sliced into cubes

What you’ll need to do:

1. Crushing of Garlic and Pistachio Nuts. These are two of the main ingredients of the recipe and will also take a little of your time as you need to crush them into tiny bits.

2. Cooking part. Pour in olive oil. Saute garlic and pistachio nuts. Add Fresh Cream and stir for a few minutes. Add in the chicken and cook for about 30 minutes.

Best served when hot.

Bon appetit!

Meet-ups with blogosphere buddies were never new to me. But meeting up with a Multiply online buddy from the Phils who migrated to Australia–that is new.

Whenever an opportunity arises, I grab every chance there is just so I could meet my online buddies. So when Bhenie, an online buddy from Multiply, messaged me that she will be visiting Sydney, I was very very excited. For about three weeks, we have known of her Sydney rendezvous but never blogged about it, afraid to jinx it.

And so on the 13th of March, we met and said our “hellos” in person for the first time. I got off work early so we can hang out for most part of the afternoon. We started our afternoon delight by having coffee and cheesecake at Starbucks. At dun na nagsimula ang chikahan. 🙂

The day started with a cloudy weather, at may drizzles pa. Other than meet-up with her, I planned a short itinerary of where I would take her. It was her first time in Sydney so I really wanted it to be memorable for her. There was a forecast of thunderstorm for that afternoon but still, the whole morning I wished for a sunny weather.

After hanging out in Starbucks, the sun finally shone. Yay! We were blessed with blue skies for the rest of the afternoon. So we’re both happy campers :).

I gave her the grand tour of the Circular Quay where you will find both the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge.

We had a lot of fun taking photos and laughing. Ang ingay-ingay namin hehe. The thing with Sydney is that we’re very tourist-friendly, that’s why you’ll also find lots of people taking photos everywhere while exploring the city.

For dinner, we (the Husband and I) brought her to Bahay Kubo. Since I know that she’s missing home, I asked her if she wanted to eat something Pinoy instead of the usual Aussie food and she said “yes”.

I also invited my friend Chloe to join us for dinner.

We all shared an order of Sisig, Crispy Pata, Bicol Express and Pinakbet. Kain Galore!! 🙂

Our last stop was at our place. Konting chika pa hehe. Kung di lang talaga late na, malamang ay nagtagal pa sana sya sa aming munting tahanan.

We had so much fun til the last minute. Husband and I are happy that she’ll be moving here soon and that we’ll have an addition to our group of friends (Welcome Bhenie!!!).

Busy day at home but never too busy to prepare meryenda today.

Husband loves Sweet Corn so I boiled some for him.

He loves tacos too so I prepared a couple for us to share.

Husband and I love Mexican food and we haven’t found a resto here in Sydney that we like. So I cook and prepare Tacos at home. On some nights, we have Taco nights…yes, just Tacos for dinner.

After our yummy afternoon tea, I took a bubble bath. I know it’s going to take a while before I indulge myself in a bubble bath again so I took a good half an hour of Me time inside the bathroom.

A Lavender bubble bath and Vanilla scented candle—perfect to end a hectic weekend.

I wanted to unwind a bit today before I face a very busy weekend ahead, so I bought this at the Asian shop…. 🙂

Chocnut is L-O-V-E

I’ve been having long days at work since Monday and when I saw this at the shops, I thought, “why not, Chocnut?”

So as I cooked Binagoongan for dinner and while I drank my usual glass of Lemonade for the day, I munch on the sweetness of my favorite chocolate during my childhood days and savor the quietness of the house and buzzing of the oven.

It’s Thursday (yay!) and in less than a week, my parents will be arriving (double yay!). Husband and I are getting busier by the minute because work is also demanding right now but it’s all good. We’re done with the guest room so this weekend, we’ll just do some groceries, lots of cleaning up plus the usual laundry, ironing and cooking. We’re also hosting for a friend who’s visiting Sydney so we’ll be taking her out tomorrow night.

I have yet to upload two more photo albums (my oath-taking and Caleb’s 1st birthday) so I’ll try to do that over the weekend too (fingers crossed). As for blog posts, I have a couple of drafts in the backburner but I’m not sure if I’ll be able to post them in the soonest possible time…oh, and my virtual project, I’m not sure if I’ll be able to launch this month. Basta, we’ll see how things go.

In the meantime, as early as now, let me wish all of you a happy and productive weekend. And if you get the chance to unwind, I hope you spend it with something that will be relaxing and sweet.

I’m not entirely buying everything organic for the home but there are a few items in the pantry that has turned organic. I figured that I may not be able to control what we eat outside all the time but at least, I can make healthy choices for our home.

Breakfast nowadays are Organic Cornflkes and Organic Milk. In making coffee and cooking, we use Organic Raw Sugar.

When we need to add flavor during meals, we now use Organic Tomato Ketchup. For cooking, I now use Organic Flour.

I still use non-organic pasta from time to time, but if I can, I try to find organic pasta like this Penne pasta I found.

And for my everyday tea at work, I’ve switched to organic two years ago.

Due to some health scare that happened to me when I was still single, I vowed that I will try my best to control the food we buy for the home when I get married. We still buy certain junk foods from time to time but we have a schedule on when we can eat junk foods. An example would be sharing a bag of chips only on Saturday nights, but for the rest of the week, we don’t. As I always say, as long as everything is in moderation and controlled, that is fine.

People are lucky nowadays to find several healthy options (one of which is organic) available to them in the market. It is a bit more expensive than the normal products but for me, it is worth it.
