Ibyangram

Ibyang + Instagram = Ibyangram

While my instagram photos are shared on my twitter page and sometimes on my tumblr and fb page, I would like to have a monthly dump of ibyangrams on AWCL too. It is thru instagram that I share everyday moments and random finds. I use instagram as my real time mini-blog. Every end of the month, I’ll be choosing a couple of photos from my instagram and share it here because I have something more to say about a certain ibyangram.

After a subtle April, the last month of Autumn was festive and filled with sweet memories with loved ones. According to news, we’ve had a warm Autumn to the point of tagging the weather as an “Autumn Heatwave”. A first time for me to experience such weather in Sydney. The nice thing about it was it matched the kind of month I had. The month of May brought warmth to my heart and I think it’s a good way to end Autumn season.

Here are a few highlights of my merry month of May:

Last month of Autumn. Days are getting shorter. To watch the sunset, there is a need to be home early.

Buddha’s Tears: Green Tea With Jasmine. Served in a flask. Having my “Me” time in a tea shop called T2. I love their teas. A must try when in Sydney.

What tea time looked like with my family when we celebrated Mother’s Day.

Sweet treats from my sweetheart. A token of gratitude because I helped him with a recently concluded project.

Toblerone Crunchy Almonds. Something we picked up at the departure area of Sydney International Airport. I think it’s meant for departing passengers only as I never see these in the arrival area of the airport or in aussie supermarkets.

Leisure reading and a cup of strong flat white at Kinokuniya. Friday “Me” time.

It’s been awhile since I’ve cooked anything Korean. So instead of our usual Thursday dinner date in Koreatown, I went home early and cooked Beef Bulgogi. Jal meokkesseumnida!

Vivid Sydney 2014 started on the last week of May! It found the event quite crowded even on a weeknight. We went out to see thrice and took a few photos. I hope to share them soon.

His and Hers Taho. At our Sunday lunch party with relatives, one of my aunties taught us how to cook Taho (sweet tofu).
Friday Tea Time With Girlfriends. Spent an afternoon catching up with dear friends while savouring delicious cakes, coffee and tea at Cheeky Chocolate Cafe.

Rainy Saturday. The gloomy weather outside provides the perfect backdrop for my nap. Darkness is a gift when one needs sleep.

Cadbury x Pascall collaboration = so good!
Japanese dinner at home! Okonomiyaki and sushi rice with seaweed. Itadakimasu!
Goodbye Autumn, hello Winter!

April felt like lightning…it went too quickly in a good way. Each day was filled with productive tasks, spending time with loved ones and a chance to reflect and better myself.

The Anzac Bridge on a backdrop of blue.

Autumn.

Real cherry blossom flowers in my tea pot. Something I picked up when I was in Japan. The subtle floral flavour of cherry blossom flowers makes me feel like Spring time.

A cup of Kibunye Burundi. Floral aroma, fruity taste, sweet and clean finish.

Getting cooler by the day. Time to bring out my Hello Kitty socks to keep my feet warm during sleep time.

Dough Collective, my newfound bakery in the city. Their bread tastes good based on the samples they have out for the customers to try. Bought the Ham & Cheese Toast, Chocolate Baguette & Cheese & Garlic Baguette.

Yukgaejang (Spicy Beef Stew). Dinner on a cool night.

Cloudy with a little wind. Refreshing to have a bit of walk at the park on a Saturday morning.

Saturday lunch date with Grandma.

Alone for lunch so I decided to have some Sushi. From the sushi train: Fresh Salmon, Scallops and Chicken Karaage.

Attended training today. Learned about the Myers-Briggs personality test and learned a few things about myself in the process.

I attended a session on MINDFULNESS. It was an enlightening experience! I now have a deeper understanding of its concept and how I can be more present in the moment. I also learned how to go thru mindful meditation while at a standstill and while doing an activity. So grateful for this gift of knowledge.

Hubby gifted me with a new trolley bag and it arrived at the office so I took it home with me on Maundy Thursday.

This Hello Kitty foldable eyelash curler is such a useful find. It’s lightweight and doesn’t take too much space in my little beauty purse.

Captain America. Enjoyed the movie.

It’s almost the middle of May and lately I’ve been pre-occupied with a few commitments. Time passes by so quickly when I’m busy and enjoying. I wish I could blog the way I used to but it seems I’m unable to do so at the moment. Maybe one day. For now, I hope you bear with my intermittent blogging.

March seemed to passed me by so quickly. Maybe because it was a month of transitioning back to our normal routines in Sydney. The month of March was filled with unpacking our stuff,  sorting things out in the home, getting my rhythm back at work and seeing loved ones too. Then there’s getting over our wonderful Japan adventure. We miss Japan. We miss travelling. Instead of daydreaming, the Husband and I used our time creating photobooks out of our Instagram photos (I’ll share them soon).

A few highlights on my Instagram feed:

Art inside Narita International Airport. The first day of March meant the end of our two-week holiday in Japan and going home to Sydney. Our flight was scheduled at 2pm but we went to Narita Airport in the morning. We had breakfast and lunch there and went around the shops before we boarded. The flight back home made me a bit sick because it was stuffy (something must have been wrong with Korean Air’s plane’s airconditioning) so when we had a layover at Incheon Airport, I was kind of out of whack and can’t wait to arrive home.

Back home in Sydney on the second day of March. Loved ones welcomed us with a delicious lunch and then capped it off with Tim Tam & Adriano Zumbo collaboration flavours.

Going thru a few keepsakes from Japan as we have coffee (we missed our Nespresso!) and biscuits.

A little treat in the middle of a workweek. Marshmallow Pops in Nutty Sea Salt Caramel, a delicious find in Hunter Valley.

Received our first IG photobook which holds our Kyoto, Nara and Osaka photos. Here’s the Husband who’s very happy to see the results of our creative efforts.

Tried to be creative by turning this pretty washi tape into a border and pasted a “happy birthday” cutout in the middle.

Australia celebrates Harmony Day – a day of cultural respect for everyone who calls Australia home. The message of Harmony Day is Everyone Belongs – from the traditional owners of this land, our first people who represent a continuous living culture of more than 60,000 years, to the 300 cultural groups who have recently made Australia their home.

Phoenix dinner with the Husband. My fortune on top, Husband’s fortune at the bottom.

On a Friday off from work so I get to have proper breakfast: Chicken & Spinach Arrozcaldo, Omelette & a cup of Nespresso Decaffeinato.

The best way to get rid of travel blues is to see dear friends. So glad that our social calendar were pre-occupied due to special people having their birthdays.

85th Birthday of my Grandma. A whole day of celebrating the life of my Grandma with family.

We’ve done well, month of March. Hello, April! ๐Ÿ™‚

My January was about milestones and celebrations. Other than welcoming the new year, the Husband and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary, my birthday and the lunar new year. The year’s first month is always about knowing how truly blessed and how enormously grateful we are for a having a good life together. We know this everyday but rings very true on special occasions.
We’ve gone back to our daily grind of routines. It wasn’t that hard to come back to work because I went straight into it on the second day of the year. The start of the year looks promising. Our January was occupied with the things we care about and we’re very inspired that it will stay that way the whole year.
Here are some of the things that made up my January….

First day at work. Enjoying the silence of my office so I celebrate with a strong cup of UCC Blue Mountain Coffee & Speculaas cookies for morning tea.

Brought the Husband to work so I treated him to an Eggs Benedict brekkie. On the other hand, I had Eggs & Toast with Bacon.

First Friday mass at St. Mary Mackillop’s Chapel. Said a special prayer for my parents who are celebrating their 38th wedding anniversary today.

I found a piano and when I sat down, I realized that I’ve forgotten how to play and that made me sad.

My version of Laing composed of Kangkong leaves, light coconut milk and shrimps.

Stir-fried Ampalaya with scrambled tofu and egg. One of our favourite meals at home.

Shared a Club Sandwich with the Husband during our dinner meeting/travel planning.

Making good use of the our phone’s calendar in scheduling travel itinerary. We note the train we’ll get on, its schedule & other information for easy reference.

Late lunch at Grill’d: Chicken Caesar Salad, Chips & Beef Burger.

Tea time! Chocolate shakes and some Churros at Chocolateria San Churros.

Storm Trooper Cake and Star Wars Cupcakes in celebration of our friend’s birthday.

Will travel. Will write. A wall in Coco Cubano that showcased vintage items.

A Yukata Kimono and a pair of Geta (Japanese wooden footwear). These are old gifts I treasure from a cousin who lived in Japan for a few years.

Anniversary dinner at TGIFridays.

Happy 7th year to us! ๐Ÿ™‚

Baked Kale Chips. I snack on these in the afternoon or partner it with soup during dinner.

Hubby’s workmate got us some treats from her Japan travel. It’s like she read my mind! Grateful she got us my favourite Kit Kat Sakura Matcha.

A happy Ibyang Day! Happy birthday to me! ๐Ÿ™‚

Australian Open dinner! Korean Fried Chicken & Dokkboki from TwoTwo and a thin-crust pizza I made which consisted of Hungarian Sausage, Ham & Onion. On TV is the Federer vs Nadal semi-finals.

Nespresso Self-Serve System. Coffee shopping made easy.

What an apt coincidence that the latest Nespresso magazine features Tokyo.

Birthday celebration with family. They got me a pretty Sleeping Beauty cake! ๐Ÿ™‚

Baked Eggs with Chorizo, Beans & Sourdough Toast. Birthday breakfast courtesy of Coco Cubano.

Peanut Butter Besos. A yummy concoction of chocolate and peanut butter. So good!

Happiness is a surprise catch-up with a dear friend from Melbourne!

Happy Seollal! Sae Hae Bok Mani Ba Deu Seyo! ์ƒˆํ•ด ๋ณต ๋งŽ์ด ๋ฐ›์œผ์„ธ์š”! Celebrating the lunar new year with Wagyu Chuck Steak & Udon.

I hope your start of the year was just as fun and filled with good memories. ๐Ÿ™‚

I think this statigram is cool as it gives you the five most liked photos from your instagram account.

Here’s mine:

I love the turnout of this video as it showcased all the things I love: travel in Seoul with family, the icons of my beloved Sydney: Opera House and Harbour Bridge, making good food and being underneath the Cherry Blossoms with the love of my life.

To all my IGmates, thank you for taking time to look at my instagram photos and for giving generous likes.
