Cherished Memories

Took the day off on Friday so I can spend time with my parents.

We had lunch at St James Hotel for some steak.

Then we attended mass at St. Mary’s Cathedral.

Walked around Hyde Park.

Had coffee and cake at The Coffee Club.

I had my usual Cafe Americano and tried their New York Cheesecake. It was lovely.

My mom had hot chocolate and it was delicious, i loved it! I think I’m going to spend some “Me” times here soon, I need to go back for their cheesecake!

Late afternoon was spent at Paddy’s Market in Chinatown to shop for pasalubong for the Phils. I told myself I’ll focus on buying for stuff for the Phils but I found stuff for me too!!! Yay!

I also took them shopping for Koreanovela DVDs. My parents love koreanovelas so I indulged them. And to top the great day, we took them to BBQ City for dinner so they can experience Korean BBQ dining.

Presenting…the Hunter Valley Gardens!!!!!

On Saturday, we went out (again) on a quest to explore Hunter Valley Gardens, which is so far the most creative looking garden I’ve ever seen here in Australia.

Hunter Valley Gardens is a 16-hectare land made up of 10 differently themed-garden. One reason why we had to look at the map (which they give you upon payment at the entrance) all the time.

Here are some of the gardens there….Indian Mosaic Garden

The Storybook Garden…

The Oriental Garden…

At the Lakes Walk…

It was just so beautiful…I love love love it!!!!

Such a nice place to be a child again, hence, we had a couple of “kulit” photos:

We spent a good five hours at Hunter Valley Gardens. After that, we visited McGuigan’s and Rosemount’s/Lindemans’ Winery for some wine tasting and buy our favorite wines.

Chris wasn’t able to drink wine because he was our designated driver…so nagkulitan na lang kami sa vineyard hehe.

On the way home, we stopped by Rhodes for a quick shopping spree at Ikea.

Last stop was dinner at Tomodachi, which is now one of my favorite Japanese restaurants (next to Nobu). Too bad they don’t have one in the West (not that I know of).

Yes, we were at the Blue Mountains again :), this time we took my parents.

It was a very windy day…as in “it-almost-tear-off-our-ears” windy. Notice how the trees swayed left as the wind blew hard.

Made my parents so cold, felt very winter for them.

We had to make them stay indoors every 15-20 minutes, give their body a rest from the cold wind outdoors.

I was very cold myself but that never stopped me from wanting to take photographs. So during one of their “indoor” break, I went out by myself and took photos of trees changing their colors.

Ahhhh, the beauty that is Autumn.

We had lunch at the Revolving Restaurant in Scenic World. The buffet costs about AUD$26.++ per adult which includes soup, salad, mains, dessert and coffee & tea…and the best view anyone can ever have when having lunch in Katoomba, Blue Mountains.

Another beautiful day in Blue Mountains.

I’m still tired from our “lagare” weekend (been having “lagare” days lately).

[“Lagare” is a Filipino term. As an adjective, it is synonymous to “having a hectic schedule” or “being busy”.]

Saturday lunch was at Hilda and Evan’s birthday celebration. Picnic at Centennial Park in Randwick.

Saturday meryenda was at Joachim’s 1st birthday party at Winston Hills.

Followed by an after-party bonding with my girls.

Sunday was fun day at the Sydney Royal Easter Show, a treat to my 7-year old cuzin Patrick.

Will upload photos and share our Royal Easter Show story soon.
