In celebration of our 5th Syota-Anniversary today, (yes, if we didn’t get married this year, we’re supposedly celebrating our 5th anniversary as boyfriend-girlfriend today.) let me tell you a little story about us.

Spent a lively, funny and massive dinner at The Meat and Wine Co. at Darling Harbour tonight with Larry, Jon and Erick.
I realized that one of the things I’m so grateful for this year is that I finally know how it is to have Kuyas around. Since I’m an only child, I’ve never really experienced having a Kuya in the family. And in the Phils, I’m usually the Ate of my male barkadas.
But here in Sydney, I’ve finally experienced having Kuyas around—and I even got three Kuyas:
Jon and Erick
and Larry.
Photos of our dinner coming soon

All it took was just one kikay question and we suddenly hit it off as friends:

We were already meeting up for lunch but we are the kind of friends that would jump at any opportunity just to see each other.
So we met up before going to work. I attended training at Ashfield today and at lunch, she treated me to a yummy Dumpling Soup at Shanghai Dumplings. No photos of food this time as I savored the food and my catching up with her. It was also a way for us to celebrate Christmas together as she flies to Phuket on Thursday, afterwhich she will spend 6 days in Manila before going back to Sydney.
