Charmed Life of a Mrs

Just some tips I got from an early morning TV show I was watching while having breakfast today:

Cut down on coffee…according to him, cutting down to 1 coffee a day will not only benefit your finances but your health as well.

Ration reading…buy only 1 magazine a week, or don’t buy at all (everything can be found on the internet these days anyway). And why not go to the library to borrow books instead of buying at bookstores?

Bring lunch to work.

Dine in at home…cut down dining at restaurants to once a week.

According to the man the host was interviewing (he was probably some financial analyst or something), if we’re able to cut down on our lifestyle expenses (likes the ones mentioned above), we would be able to save at least AUS$250 per month.

Not bad huh?

This morning I realized that if I’m going to add next week, it would mean that for three weeks I only work 4 days a week.

Last week, I only worked from Monday to Thursday because I took a day-off on Friday.

This week, it was the Queen’s Birthday on Monday so work was from Tuesday to Friday only (Public Holiday din kami dito sa Aussie tulad ng mga nasa Philippines). Not to mention that I’m going home at 3:30PM today just because I don’t feel like staying in the office right now (read: tinatamad ako kaya uuwi na lang ako ng maaga at maglalakwatsa).

Next week, I’m taking a day-off again on Friday because Husband and I will have a late evening out on Thursday.

Wow, para akong Part-Timer !

Happy weekend everyone!

*sigh*…my first ever pair of Havaianas died today…:(

Ibyang’s First Havaianas (2002-2008)

and all because of….

Chris and I were “jogging” together when the accident happened. *sigh*.

My first pair of Havaianas was a gift from my Tita Bess, she sent it from Australia in 2002. It had been to many places in Metro Manila, has been in Boracay twice and was taken back to Australia because I eventually migrated here. I used to wear it whenever I go out but thru time it has become very hard to clean so I made it my “pambahay tsinelas” (slippers inside the house).

I’m weird this way…I get attached to things I use often and I always remember where it came from and the places I took them. Most of the things I own remind me of places I’ve been to. One example would be the hand gloves I bought in Hongkong on my honeymoon, it reminds me of the night I bought it in Mongkok.

Anyway, my Havas were laid to rest this afternoon…can’t believe it lasted 6 years. 🙂
