It’s been a while since we’ve had a proper date so when we went out to watch the Beethoven Nine concert, we had to go the usual route of having coffee and dessert first.


The nearest dessert place (we like) near the Sydney Opera House is the Guylian Cafe. It’s always a treat to have dessert here as we never go to Circular Quay often. This cafe is always busy as it’s in a touristy area but we almost always get a seat whenever we pass by. We were lucky to get a table on a Friday afternoon.


The Husband had a dark chocolate cake which came with a raspberry ice cream. Rich and smooth and goes so well with the ice cream. The fresh strawberries that came with it balanced out the sweetness of the cake.



I had a Coffee Eclair which was so good. The cream filling wasn’t too sweet or heavy. Just the right lightness to go with the eclair’s crunchy pastry.


Both desserts were enjoyed with our favourite cuppas: a flat white for me and a latter for him.
